Milestone XProtect VideoOS Service Crashing on Preview
Title: Milestone XProtect VideoOS Service Crashing on Preview
Applications Affected: Milestone XProtect Smart Client 2016 R3
Symptoms: Upon Opening a view with numerous cameras on either Live or Playback, The XProtect Smart Client will crash and display 'VideoOS has stopped responding' (See Below)
Cause: Too many cameras have been added to the Startup view, with a standard Graphics card and processor, the computer cannot handle it and VideoOS service crashes causing CPU spikes then drops.
Solution: In order to fix this, Client End-Users must reduce Cameras per view to Between 4 and 6.
You may also have to lower The display quality and framerate under 'XProtect Smart Protect Settings> Application> Default Framerate / Default Image Quality' (See Below)
In order to see a Full resolution image of a camera, you may double click on it; which concurrently opens a Full Resolution display of said single Camera view.
